Stockbower Makes D3Hoops.com Team of the Week Again
SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- For the second time this season, Garnet sophomore Kathryn Stockbower was named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week for women's basketball.
In a 1-1 week for the Garnet during the week of January 5-11, Stockbower (Ft. Washington, Pa. / Upper Dublin) averaged 19.5 points and 17.5 rebounds. She shot 51.8 percent (14-for-27) from the field. Following a 23-point, 14-rebound effort at Franklin and Marshall on January 7, Stockbower powered the Garnet to its first win against Dickinson in five years on January 10 with game-highs of 16 points and 21 rebounds.
Stockbower currently leads all of Division III with 15.8 rebounds per game and tops the Centennial Conference in scoring (18.5 points per game).
The D3Hoops.com Team of the Week is comprised of the top five players of the week selected from the more than 400 NCAA Division III women's basketball teams nationwide. This is the second time this season Stockbower was honored by the web site; she was also selected on December 9.
Stockbower was elected to the team along with another Centennial Conference player; Washington junior Jessica Jamrogowicz was selected as well.
Swarthmore, who is currently 7-6 overall and 4-2 in the Conference, will gear up for a three-game road trip facing Gettysburg on January 15, Johns Hopkins on January 17 and finally Washington on the 20th.
