Stockbower Earns Centennial POW Honors A Second Time
LANCASTER, Pa. -- Swarthmore sophomore Kathryn Stockbower was named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week for women's basketball, as announced by the Conference office on Monday.
Stockbower (Ft. Washington, Pa. / Upper Dublin) , a forward, averaged 13.5 points and 15.0 rebounds in a 1-1 weekend on the West Coast. The Garnet opened the second semester at the Purple and Gold Classic, hosted by Whittier College, and Stockbower posted 10 points and a game-high 17 rebounds against the host school. She then followed up with game-highs of 17 points and 13 rebounds in a 60-49 win vs. Castleton State on January 4.
Stockbower currently leads the Centennial in both scoring (18.7 points per game) and rebounding (15.8 rebounds per game). She was ranked second in all of Division III in rebounding at the culmination of last semester.
Stockbower earns Centennial honors for the second time this season (third overall).
Swarthmore is currently 5-5 overall, 3-1 in the Centennial Conference, and will play two Conference games this week. The Garnet will play at Franklin & Marshall on January 7 and then return home to host Dickinson on January 10.
