Fourth Annual Work-a-Thon

SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- The Swarthmore Women's Soccer team held their fourth annual Work-a-thon in conjunction with the Delaware County Housing Coalition (DCHC) based in Chester, Pa. The Garnet aided the DCHC in the mission to help stabilize at-risk neighborhoods by helping those people in need.

The team laced up their boots to take on a section of the Highland Gardens area by raking leaves, weeding, mowing lawns cleaning gutters and providing any other labor necessary to help with the beautification of the homes and properties of the disabled residents on the block.

The Delaware County Housing Coalition works in partnership with municipal agencies, residents, churches and community organizations.  To accomplish their mission, they organize volunteers to complete a variety of tangible neighborhood renewal projects in low to moderate income
communities. Their support of Chester’s Weed & Seed and other community initiatives has brought the DCHC to work in neighborhoods in Chester’s West End.
