SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Swarthmore junior midfielder Dylan Langley led his team with a goal and an assist in a 3-1 victory over Immaculata Wednesday night in non-conference men's soccer action at Clothier Field.
25th-ranked Swarthmore won their sixth consecutive match, improving their overall record to 11-2-1 while Immaculata fell to 7-7-2.
Garnet captain Jeff Kushner ’09 (Norristown, Pa. / Metchacton) headed in the first goal of the night in the 10th minute, off a free kick sent in by Micah Rose ’12 (Williston, Vt. / Champlain Valley Union).
Both sides picked up the game pace in the second half, but it was the Garnet who held a 16-6 shot advantage over Immaculata.
In the 60th minute, Langley (Honolulu, Hawaii / Iolani School) sent a deep cross from the right side of the field to senior forward Yoi Tibbetts (Sandwich, Mass. / Sandwich) who notched his third game-winner of the season. Nine minutes later, Langley put home a rebound off a shot from Tibbetts for his sixth goal of the game, to make the score 3-0.
A last-minute effort by senior Bryan Foster (Wallingford, Pa. / Strath Haven) put Immaculata on the board with 89:23 showing on the board.
Garnet net minder David D’Annunzio (Piedmont, Calif. / Piedmont) picked up two saves playing all 90 minutes.
Swarthmore will continue to enjoy the comforts of home, hosting Centennial-foe McDaniel this Saturday, Oct. 25 at 7:00 p.m. The Garnet sit in second place with three matches remaining in the Centennial regular season.
