Weston Finds Cozy Digs at Bent Creek

LITIZ, Pa. --  Swarthmore freshman Paul Weston cracked the top 20 at the Bent Creek Invitational hosted by Franklin & Marshall Monday afternoon at the Bent Creek Country Club.

The host Diplomats collected an easy victory, posting a team score of 297 to win by 19 strokes over second-place Rutgers-Camden and Wesley.

F&M was also represented in the individual scoring, with Dennis Gunderson shooting a one-under par 70 to take top honors, while teammate Andrew Woods finished one stroke behind in second place.

Weston (Waterbury, Vt. / Harwood Union) topped the three Swarthmore first-year competitors (four are needed to post a team score), carding a nine-over par 80 at the 6,232-yard layout.  Classmate Alex Nichamin (Brookville, Pa. / Brookville) posted a 96 while Alex Leichter (Wayland, Mass. / Wayland) added a 102 to round out the Garnet scoring.

Swarthmore concludes the fall portion of the schedule in two weeks, taking part in the Muhlenberg Fall Invitational on Oct. 19 (Center Valley Golf Club) and Oct. 20 (Lehigh Country Club).
