Shorewomen Down Garnet
CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- Shorewoman senior Candace Gaull scored two goals for Washington in a 4-0 win over visiting Swarthmore on a cloudy evening during a Centennial Conference field hockey showdown.
Washington (7-1, 4-0 CC) scored early in the first few minutes of the game and added two more goals before half time. To end their scoring run, the Shorewomen notched the final goal of the game at 56:26 making the score 4-0.
Garnet (3-7, 1-3 CC) goalies split playing time 35 minutes each, junior Gina Grubb (Pittsburg, Pa. / Oakland Catholic) collected three saves while sophomore Katie Ashmore (Princeton, N.J. / Princeton) had 12 saves in the second half.
Swarthmore will be traveling to Neumann College on Thursday, October 2nd for the make-up game that was rescheduled for a previous rain date. The game will begin at 4:00 p.m.
