Colombo Named Offensive Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Swarthmore forward Megan Colombo was selected as the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week announced Monday, Sept. 22.

Colombo (Arcadia, Calif. / Arcadia), a sophomore, scored two goals and added an assist in Swarthmore’s 4-3 upset-win at top-ranked College of New Jersey on Sept. 17.  It was just the second victory by a visiting team in Ewing, N.J. in the last 10 years.

Colombo is second on the Garnet (third in the Conference) with 10 points, tallying four goals and two assists, to date.

The Swarthmore women’s soccer team opened the 2008 season with a 5-1 record (1-0 in the Centennial), currently ranking fourth in the Middle Atlantic region, according to the latest NSCAA/adidas poll.
