Garnet Jump to No. 11
SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- The Swarthmore men's soccer team jumped twelve spots in the latest NSCAA/adidas Division III poll released on Sept. 16, ranking 11th in the nation.
The Garnet began their week with a 2-1 win over Eastern on Wednesday and extended their nine-match unbeaten streak by defeating then #5 Stevens Tech (N.J.), 2-0 in Hoboken, N.J.
The top-15 ranking is believed to be the highest Swarthmore has climbed since polls were issued--the Garnet (4-0-1) also earned a No. 2 ranking in the Mid-Atlantic region, sitting behind perennial power Messiah (4-0-1).
It is back on the road again for the Garnet this week; Swarthmore faces neighboring Widener (2-3-1) on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 7:00 p.m. and then on Saturday, Sept. 20, the team opens Centennial Conference action at Johns Hopkins (5-2) in Baltimore.
