Grigsby Named All-Conference
LANCASTER, Pa. -- Swarthmore defender Melissa Grigsby was named to the 2008 All-Centennial Women's Lacrosse second team, as announced by the Conference office Thursday afternoon.
Grigsby (West Chester, Pa. / West Chester East), a junior, started all 17 games for the Garnet and collected 38 ground balls, had 21 caused turnovers and 25 draw controls.
The defender tied a career-high six ground balls against Villa Julie on March 20 and against Gwynedd-Mercy, she tied another career-high with seven draw controls.
This is Grigsby’s second year in a row with an All-Centennial accolade; in 2007 she was named to the honorable mention.
Swarthmore wrapped up the 2008 season with an overall record of 6-11 and 2-7 in Centennial play.
