#16 Profs Top Garnet
GLASSBORO, N.J. -- Swarthmore faced another nationally-ranked opponent Thursday afternoon, succumbing to the 16th-ranked Rowan Profs 7-0 in south New Jersey.
Rowan improved to 31-5 on the season, putting together 14 hits to complete the season sweep of Swarthmore.
The Garnet (20-15) got hits from junior Christine Sendelsky (Edison, N.J. / John Stevens), freshman Krista Scheirer (Norristown, Pa. / Germantown Academy) and sophomore Kathryn Riley (Dagsboro, Del. / Indian River).
Swarthmore junior Alexandra Zelaski (Middleburg, Ohio / Midpark) to the loss to fall to 5-7 overall, allowing three earned runs on nine hits while striking out two.
The Garnet conclude the regular season on Saturday, April 26 at rival Haverford. The Centennial doubleheader starts at 1:00 p.m. and hold many Conference playoff implications. Swarthmore can move up as far as the number-two slot while the Fords (21-11, 11-3 CC) have the opportunity (with help) to secure home-field advantage.
