Playing for a Cause
The 2008 Tri-Co Invitational is being played to help find a cure for childhood cancer. The six teams will each play two games over the weekend and are collecting donations for each goal scored. All donations from the goal-a-thon and the proceeds from Alex's Lemonade Stand (providing concessions at all games) during the weekend, will go to the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (click for more information). Please contact Karen Borbee if you would like to send in a donation at (kborbee1@swarthmor.edu or 610-328-8209).
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation is a unique foundation that has evolved from a young cancer patient's front yard lemonade stand to a nationwide fundraising movement for childhood cancer. Since Alexandra "Alex" Scott (1996-2004) set up her first front yard stand, more than $10 million has been raised for childhood cancer research be Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.
Final Goal Count: 145
