Mullarkey Enters Swarthmore Top-Ten List

HAVERFORD, Pa. -- Tommy Huang '10 vaulted to a personal best of 2.44 meters while Cait Mullarkey '09 continued to lower her one mile time at the Seamus McElligott Invitational hosted by Haverford on Saturday morning.

Mullarkey had a personal-best while qualifying for conference championships in the one mile posting a race-time of 5:18.40 and placing fifth overall (fifth-fastest time in school history). While Lauren Deluca ’10 (5:34.26), Bess Ritter ’09 (5:37.05) and Ashley Davies ’10 (5:45.98) all qualified for conference championships as well in the one mile.

Garnet freshman Rebecca Woo placed sixth overall in the 3,000 meter run while posting an 11:43.48 finish time. Connor Darby ’09, Mickey Katz ’08 and Andrew Van Buren ’10 all had personal bests when running in the 3,000.

Chris Mayer-Bacon ’11 placed fifth in the 55 meter hurdles with a 10.68 race-time.

Three Garnet men all had personal bests in the shot put Jake Baskin ’10 (8.47m), Tommy Huang ’10 (7.49m) and Nick Willet-Jefferies ’10 (10.13).

Swarthmore will spend the week preparing for the Valentine Invite hosted by Boston University on Feb. 8th and 9th.
