#15 Fords Pick Up Centennial Win Over Garnet
HAVERFORD, Pa. -- At the Centennial Conference volleyball match on the Main Line, #15 Haverford (26-2, 8-1 CC) swept the Garnet (9-17, 4-5 CC) in three games.
Swarthmore team members Vanessa Wells '08 (Chicago, Ill. / Lincoln Park) and Jen Wang '09 (Palo Alto, Calif. / Henry Gunn) both posted eight kills each while Katherine Gold ‘08 (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill East) returned to the court from a recent illness, picking up five kills.
Middle blocker Karen Berk ’08 (Havertown, Pa. / Haverford) had three blocks for the Garnet defense. Attempting to pick up the Haverford kills was libero Erin Heaney ’08 (Buffalo, N.Y. / City Honors), who came out with 13 digs during the three games.
The Swarthmore volleyball team will play in their last match of the season on Saturday, Oct. 27th at 1:00 hosting Franklin & Marshall in Tarble Pavilion.
