LEXINGTON, Va.  -- The Swarthmore women's tennis team experienced the good and the bad on Saturday, moving up to 15th in the national rankings before falling to fourth-ranked Washington & Lee 5-0 in the second round of the 2007 NCAA Division III women's tennis championships.

The latest ITA Division III National Rankings place the Garnet (13-7) in 15th overall and sixth in the Atlantic South region.  Senior Sonya Reynolds is now ranked fourth in the region in singles and sixth in doubles with partner Sara Sargent '07.

After cruising past Cabrini in the first round on Friday, Swarthmore ran into the top-ranked team in the region in the Lady Generals.  And just like in 2003, 2004, 2005 Washington & Lee ended Swarthmore's season during NCAA play.

Swarthmore will now follow Reynolds as she prepares for the NCAA Individual Championships in Fredericksburg, Va. on May 15-21.  It is the third straight appearance for Reynolds in the championships as she looks to cap a story-book collegiate tennis career.
