Garnet Take Third at Seven Sisters

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Garnet freshman Abbe Muller scored a career-high five goals, including the game-winner with 2:46 left in overtime, as Swarthmore defeated Smith 13-12 in the third-place game at the 2007 Seven Sisters Lacrosse Championship Sunday afternoon.

On a brisk New England day, the Pioneers (3-2) scored three goals in the final three minutes of regulation to force the extra time.  The Garnet re-grouped in overtime and Swarthmore senior Lindsay Roth, an All-Tournament selection, fed Muller for the game-winner at the 2:46 mark.

Muller finished the afternoon with a game-high six points while Anna de Regt '09, Megan Sanborn '08 and Marissa Schaffer '09 each posted two scores.  Megan Sanborn, a junior midfielder and the MVP of the 2006 Seven Sisters Championship, was also selected for the All-Tournament team after accumulating two goals, three assists and five ground balls.

The Garnet resume Centennial action this Thursday, March 29 at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa.
