Swarthmore Starts 2007 in Style, Win at Bryn Athyn
BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - Swarthmore freshman Kim Kramer continued to establish herself as a force to be reckoned with and teammates Candice Cherk '07 and Patricia Kelly '08 also won singles matches as the Garnet defeated host Bryn Athyn 3-2.
Kramer had no trouble with Ethan Davm at #1, winning the first game 21-10 and the second 21-7. Cherk defeated Anna Glenn 21-12 and 21-14 in the #2 match, and Kelly won two straight, 21-12 and 21-15, over Kristin Coffin.
In doubles action, the Swarthmore #1 duo of Mu Yang '07 and Karma Lama '09 fell 21-12, 21-13 to Jeremy Fehon and Beata Horan. Freshman Yimei Zou and May Maani fell 21-7 and 21-5 to Glenn Green and Dylan Hendricks in the #2 match.
The Garnet (1-0) will look to remain undefeated on Wednesday, January 31st when they travel over to the Main Line to face Haverford.
