Casey, an economics and psychology double major, has started all 17 games this season at point guard for the Garnet.  He helped engineer a 10-point second-half comeback at Franklin & Marshall on January 13, shooting a perfect 3 of 3 from the floor (including 2 of 2 from three-point land) while collecting a game-high five assists and five steals.  A two-time team captain, Casey leads the Centennial Conference with a 2.48 assist-to-turnover ratio and ranks third with 3.35 assists per game (a career-best) while averaging 32.4 minutes per game (sixth-most in the Conference).

Casey has appeared in 86 games at Swarthmore, making 42 starts.  One of the best guards to wear the Garnet uniform, Casey is fourth all-time at Swarthmore with 102 career steals and fifth with 225 career assists.

The Cozen Award is named in honor of legendary Drexel and Overbrook High head men's basketball coach Sam Cozen. While at Drexel, Cozen boasted a 213-94 record, while winning 11 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships and making four NCAA appearances.  Cozen's college coaching career overlapped for two years with his tenure at Overbrook (1947-54), where he captured five Philadelphia Public League championships while directing legendary players such as Wilt Chamberlain and Hal Lear.

Swarthmore (7-10 overall, 4-6 Centennial) will play a pair of crucial Centennial games this week, traveling to Washington (Md.) College on Wednesday, Jan. 24 for a 7:30 p.m. contest before returning home to Tarble Pavilion to face Dickinson College on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 4:00 p.m.
