Garnet Compete at Gotham Cup

COMPLETE RESULTS

NEW YORK - The Swarthmore indoor track & field team opened up the second semester by competing in the 2007 NYC Gotham Cup at the New Balance Track and Field Center at the Armory in Manhattan Friday afternoon.

Swarthmore sophomore Cait Mullarkey was the top Division III finisher in the women's unseeded 800 meters, posting the tenth-best time (2:23.25) out of 40 competitors.  Sophomore Emma Stanley ran a strong race in the unseeded mile, placing 23rd out of 41 runners in a time of 5:35.62 (good for fourth best among Division III competition).

On the men's side, junior Ross Weller ran 19th out of 58 runners in the unseeded mile, posting a time of 4:27.81.   Senior Matt Schiller clocked in at 53.68 in the 400 meters and sophomore Dan Hodson was 32nd out 55 runners at 800 meters, also unseeded.

The Garnet travel to the University of Delaware for their next meet, scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 20.
