SWARTHMORE, Pa. — Franklin & Marshall freshman attack Jen Pritchard scored a career-high six goals on seven shots as the eighth-ranked Diplomats brought Swarthmore's nine-game winning streak to a close, defeating the Garnet 15-7 on Tuesday afternoon in Centennial Conference action.
Midfielder Lindsay Roth '07 led Swarthmore (8-1, 1-1 CC) with three goals while midfielders Katie Crawford '07 and Rachel Jordan '08 added two goals each.
The Garnet took an early 2-1 lead following Crawford's first goal at 7:29. Pritchard evened the score, 2-2, finishing off a pass from junior Sloan Giampa at 10:22 and the Diplomats took their first lead 1:31 later when freshman Shannon Summers tallied one of her three goals off a feed from sophomore Catherine Onnen.
Roth scored her second goal of the afternoon at 12:12, knotting the score at 3-3.
F&M (6-1, 1-0 CC) scored the next seven goals, including five at the end of the half to assume an 8-3 advantage at the intermission. Roth broke up the streak with her 17th goal of the season at 35:14, yet the Diplomats put home four more scores to put the game out of reach.
The Diplomats held a 34-19 shot advantage while the Garnet held a slight lead in ground balls 30-29.
Kamissa Mort made 10 saves in goal for F&M while sophomore Susannah Blair registered 14 stops for Swarthmore.
Swarthmore travels south on Rt. 320 this coming Thursday, March 30 to take on Widener University at 5:00 p.m.
