Kenyon Lords Over Garnet



SYLVAN LAKE PARK , Fla. - Kenyon College (3-1) turned a 6-5 halftime advantage into a 15-6 victory over Swarthmore on a warm Saturday evening in Florida.

The Garnet assumed the early lead, taking a 4-2 advantage midway through the first period. The Lords fought back to tie the game at 4-all at the end of the first period and held a 6-5 lead when the halftime horn sounded.

Sophomore midfielder Adam Miller and freshman Bradi Covert led the Garnet with two goals and three ground balls apiece. For Covert, it was the first two scores of his collegiate career.

Senior Matt Perez added a goal and an assist for Swarthmore (1-1).

Garnet goalie Frank Mazzucco made eight saves in goal.

Swarthmore returns home for its next game; the Garnet welcome Richard Stockton to campus on Saturday, March 18 for a 1:00 p.m. game. The game will take place on Cunningham Fields, a change from the usual Clothier Field location.
