Chapman and Santa Cruz Down Swarthmore
Outside hitter Erica George '07 tallied 12 kills and seven digs as the Garnet fell to both Chapman and UC-Santa Cruz 3-0 on Saturday in southern California. The Garnet lost by scores of 30-23, 30-17, 30-23 vs. Chapman and then 30-26, 30-17, 30-19 to the Banana Slugs.
In the Chapman game, freshman outside hitter Jennifer Wang had eight kills and 10 digs, while Emily Conlon '06 handed out 20 assists and registered 12 digs for her third straight double-double. Freshman Madeleine Case set the final game, collecting 13 assists and six digs.
In the Santa Cruz match, Heaney had a team-high 15 digs and Patrice Berry '06 had 7 kills and 12 digs.
Swarthmore travels to Gettysburg on Tuesday evening for its next match. The Garnet (11-11) take on the Bullets at 7:00 p.m. on October 18.
