Harman, Chryssikos Lead Tide over Rangers

Chris Harman '08 scored a career-high five goals and Tim Chryssikos '05 added four goals and three assists to pace the Garnet (3-3) to a 12-10 non-conference victory at Drew (2-3).

Chryssikos sparked the Garnet to a 3-0 lead scoring the first goal just 1:15 into the game, then assisting on Harman's first just 48 seconds later. Harman then picked up his second goal at 8:42 off a Chryssikos feed.

Drew countered with four consecutive goals to take a 4-3 lead with 11:49 remaining in the half as the Rangers struck for three goals in a span of 2:07.

Harman collected his third goal at 11:03 to tie the contest at 4-4. The squads took turns hitting the back of the net as Gil Arbitsman and David Elam scored for the Rangers and Gavin Nurick and Ryan McKenna scored for the Tide to go into the half deadlocked at 6-6.

Chryssikos opened the third period with an unassisted goal 51 seconds in and harman posted back-to-back tallies one minute apart to give the Garnet a 9-6 advantage at 9:06. Tom Stitt scored just 16 seconds later to cut the lead to two goals. Chryssikos picked up his fourth hat trick of the season at the 1:23 mark to make it 10-7.

In this game of scoring runs Arbitsman posted back-to-back goals, his third and fourth of the game, to cut the Garnet lead to one with 10:09 remaining.

Tom Coughlin '05 scored unassisted just 45 seconds later and Chryssikos picked up his fourth goal of the game at 8:14 to give the Tide some breathing room. Phil Rosenau scored for Drew with 5:02 remaining but Garnet keeper Frank Mazzucco '08 kept the Rangers off the board the rest of the way making eight saves in the fourth quarter. Mazzucco finished the contest with 16 stops while, Ranger keeper Jason Woodford recorded 21 saves.

The Garnet host Ursinus on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Clothier Fields.
