Cooper-Harris Goes Yard in 16-9 Defeat
Noah Cooper-Harris '07 cracked three hits, including his first collegiate home run, while classmate Ian Adelstein added three hits as the Garnet dropped their season opener 16-9 to MacMurray College in Ft. Myers, FL on Sunday afternoon.
Co-captain Jared Leiderman '05 (0-1) took the loss for the Garnet (0-1), going five innings before leaving with Swarthmore down 7-6.
Cooper-Harris hit his first four-bagger over the left-center field fence for one of his three RBIs on the day. Adelstein had a great opening day, accumulating a single, double, triple, sacrifice fly, all while scoring twice and driving in two more. Freshman Andy Bender collected two hits in his collegiate debut, including an adventurous swipe of second base.
The Garnet continue their Florida schedule with a 9:00 a.m. game on Monday against Anna Maria College.
