2005 Season Preview
The cornerstone of the 2005 team will be the middle and long distance runners lead by the senior trio of Garrett Ash, James Golden, and Lang Reynolds.
All three bring strong pedigrees to the table: Golden won the Centennial Conference 5000 meters outdoors in 2003, Reynolds was the conference cross-country Runner of the Year in 2003, and Ash was conference runner-up in both the 3000 meters and 5000 meters last winter during the indoor season.
Adding depth to the middle distances will be Vernon Chaplin '07, Duncan Gromko'07, Keefe Keeley '06, Dillon McGrew '07, and Paul Thibodeau '06. All have earned conference medals in various relays over the past two years. Juniors Jones Nauseef and Jim Kreft will contribute veteran leadership while first year's Mickey Katz, Mike Siciliano and Ross Weller will inject plenty of youth and talent.
The sprinters will aid in the team's formidability, led by junior Tyler Lyson, two-time conference finalist in the 400 meters. Contributing as well will be Sean Anderson '06, newcomer Mike Bonesteel '08, Nick Farrar '07, Ben Munda '07, and Matt Schiller '07.
Senior Brian Hwang will divide his time between the triple jump (conference finalist in 2003) and contributing to the sprint relays. Pole-vaulter Matt Singleton '07 sets his sights on contending in the conference in his specialty this spring while junior Wee Chua is the keystone of the weight throwers for the upcoming 2005 season.
