Garnet 4th After Day 1 of Centennial Championships

With five events in the books, the Garnet are in fourth place with 142 points in the three day Centennial Conference Championships hosted by Franklin & Marshall College. Gettysburg leads the charge with 250 points with the host Diplomats are in second (244) and Dickinson is in third with 148 points.

The theme for the Garnet on the day was to take the fifth as the squad placed fifth in the 200 freestyle relay, 500 freestyle, and the 200 IM.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Andrew Frampton '08, Andrew Koczo '07, Jonathan Augat '07 and Jason Horwitz '07 started the evening with a fifth place finish in a time of 1:29.06. Frampton followed by taking fifth place in the 500 freestyle in 4:48.93 and Anders Taylor '07 followed suit with fifth in the 200IM in 2:01.95.

Not wanting to set a trend the Garnet closed out the evening with a bronze in the 400 medley relay as Taylor, Koczo, Mike Auerbach '05 and Horwitz touched the wall in 3:36.72.

Action continues tomorrow morning at 10:30 with trials in the 400IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, and 100 backstroke. Finals start at 6:30.
