Moodle Workshops and Training Opportunities for Fall 2014

ITS is offering several Moodle workshops and one-on-one sessions to help get your courses ready for the Fall 2014 semester. Introduction to Moodle Workshop This hands-on workshop will cover how to set up a course in Moodle, upload a syllabus and readings, handle student enrollments, send class emails, and provide an overview of other features available in Moodle. Moodle 2 Upgrade on Thursday August 8, 2013

ITS will upgrade to Moodle 2 on Thursday August 8, 2013.  Moodle will be unavailable from 11AM to 8PM.  All your existing courses and enrollments will remain in Moodle after the upgrade. Lynda.com maintains a very large and up-to-date library of courses taught by prominent technologists and designers. New titles are added every week. ITS Welcomes new Media Center Coordinator Tayarisha Poe

Academic Technology is pleased to welcome new Media Center Coordinator and recent Swarthmore College graduate Tayarisha Poe ’12 to the Information Technology Services team. Tayarisha brings a wealth of knowledge about video production, digital photography, printing and the Adobe CS suite along with her lively and welcoming personality to the Media Center.  She has particular interests in multimedia storytelling, digital cinematography and DSLR video production, and we look forward to a series of instructional workshops she’ll be hosting through the academic year on these and other media related topics. Upcoming Moodle Training

ITS will be hosting a series of workshops for faculty and staff interested in learning more about Moodle. Our Introduction to Moodle workshops cover the basics of getting started and how to set up a course in Moodle.  You can bring your syllabus and readings and start to set up your courses for Fall 2012. The Intermediate Moodle workshops are geared towards people with some experience using Moodle and cover how to set up online assignments, blogs, wikis, surveys, and quizzes in Moodle.
