New Version of Stata

The newest version of Stata 13 IC is now available via download for faculty, staff, and students: Stata/IC allows datasets with as many as 2,047 variables. The number of observations is limited only by the amount of RAM in your computer. Stata/IC can have at most 798 right-hand-side variables in a model. We recently heard from one of the nearly 700 of you who are already using lynda.swarthmore.edu to help you learn on your own schedule.  Brady White ’15 has been using Lynda.com videos to help learn how to use SolidWorks 2014, a program that allows you to design objects to be printed on a 3D printer. Adobe Creative Cloud is Here!!!

ITS is happy to announce the release of Adobe Creative Cloud! This software can be downloaded from our ITS Software page. What you need to know: Despite the fact that Adobe chose to name the new version “Creative Cloud”, the software is not cloud software and will still be installed locally on to your Mac or PC. The new license allows us to install Adobe Creative Cloud only on college owned computers. Faculty and staff will be able to access the Creative Cloud applications on College-provided laptops on or off campus without needing to connect with the keyserver. Please hold off on updating to Mavericks OS X 10.9

You may have heard Apple today announced that OS X 10.9 Mavericks is available as a free update today.  However, at this time ITS is recommending that community members NOT update to Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks yet. ITS has a newer edition of SPSS (version 21 ) available for download for faculty, staff, and students here:ITS Software What’s new in version 21? Simulation.
