CNC has landed in the Makerspace!

A hearty Swat welcome to the newest, chonkiest member of our Makerspace Machine Family, the ShopSabre CNC Router. What is a CNC? Well, Computer Numerical Control refers to any number of machines that operates by digital instructions, rather than by manual effort. Other familiar CNC devices are 3D printers and Laser Cutters. In our kind of workshop, CNC is usually shorthand for a multi-axis Router, or cutter. This tool is capable of taking your intricate 3D designs and recreating them in physical material! ITS put on a series of workshops to prepare faculty for the asynchronous and remote start to the Spring 2022 semester. Here are the workshop descriptions and a link to the recordings (available to Swarthmore community members only).
