Print Release Station Saves Trees, CO2, Real $$

The Print Release Stations, which we’ve tested a bit in McCabe, and have been testing in the Beardsley Media Center continuously since Spring Break, have led to real savings in resources not used…  that is, jobs that people send to the printer, but choose not to actually print (or just forget to pick up). ITS probably can’t help you with your plans for world domination, but we do have lots of computing power that we can share with you this summer. Beardsley Media Center Adds Pen Tablets for Image Editing

The Beardsley Media Center in has added ten new Bamboo Fun pen based tablets from Wacom to all of the computers in the main room this Fall. These new tablets are ideal for illustration, drawing or photo editing in which the use of a pen would be advantageous. These are medium sized tablets, and they come with a multi-function pen/stylus that lets you navigate contextual menus as well as edit your material. They are pressure sensitive, so artists drawing can vary the width of their “brush” by adjusting how hard they touch the surface with the pen. ITS welcomes Dan Berlin to the Media Center

Please join ITS in welcoming Daniel Berlin to our staff. Dan is our new media center associate. Dan is tasked with keeping the Beardsley Media Center in good working order and supporting the faculty, staff, and students who are working on video, audio, imaging, and printing projects in the Center. Dan graduated from University of The Arts, College of Media and Communication in Philadelphia with a BFA in Writing for Film and Television.
