Google Chrome – a nice complement for browsing

ITS tested Google Chrome on several of our swat online services, and found that many swat services function properly. Chrome is packed with many features that are easy to use including navigation and search history. If you are interested in road testing Google Chrome, feel free to download it; but keep in mind, Chrome is still in beta, and is not as mature as your current College supported browsers (Internet Explorer, Safari, and Firefox). Revised Procedures on Copyright Violations Related to File Sharing

To Swarthmore College Faculty, Staff, and Students: The new Higher Education Opportunity Act imposes a variety of federal regulatory and reporting requirements on colleges and universities. Two provisions are designed to reduce illegal sharing of copyrighted works using file sharing on college networks. While the law will be clarified through the regulatory process, we are required to make a good faith effort to comply with these provisions as the Act is in effect. Blackboard Upgrade and Training in August

This summer, we will upgrade our Tri-College Blackboard Learning Management System to the latest version, and offer several workshops on old and new features. If you have immediate questions about Blackboard, please contact any member of our ITS/Library Support Team. In order to carry out the upgrade, Blackboard will be off line for a few hours.
