Winter (Break) is Coming

Winter break is quickly approaching and that means the J-term is also beginning soon. With the J-term starting immediately after our return from winter break ITS wants to make sure the Swarthmore community has all the information they need to be set up and ready to go. We would like the entire community to enjoy a restful and restorative break.

ITS Support During Winter Break

Our help desk will be closed for winter break (beginning 4:30pm EST Friday, December 18 – 8:30 am EST Monday, January 4). During this time we will not be able to provide on-campus support for hardware repair issues or equipment loans. You may still submit all support requests via our ITS Support Portal and we will prioritize them accordingly.

Classroom and Conferencing Technologies

Classroom and Conferencing Technologies will also be closed for winter break. Please submit all support requests via our ITS Support Portal and we will prioritize them accordingly.

Language Center, Media Center, and MakerSpace

The Language Center, Media Center, and MakerSpace will be closed for winter break.

J-term Requests and Support

The start of J-term is also our first day back from winter break. To ensure we have sufficient time to assist you, please submit all requests for services related to J-term classes via our ITS Support Portal.

ITS will continue to provide remote support as a first option in compliance with Swarthmore and the CDC’s recommendations for social distancing. Our on-campus help desk will continue to operate by appointment only and will not be open for walk-in support.

Classroom and Conferencing Technologies

Classroom and Conferencing Technologies will operate by appointment only during J-term. Any repairs in classrooms or conference rooms will be made after the spaces have been vacated. Please allow sufficient setup time before each class or meeting.

Language Center, Media Center, and MakerSpace

The Language and Media Centers will be available by appointment only. Email lmc@swarthmore.edu for appointments or questions regarding services.

Remote Resources

The ITS Support Portal is a great place to start if you have any questions. You will be able to view various Solutions articles to receive solutions to common questions, as well as browse our Service Catalog (requires login).
