Did you know your phone and voicemail have web portals? Anyone assigned a phone extension can manage their Cisco phone and voicemail through a web portal, using their Swarthmore credentials. Shared phone extensions and extensions assigned to a department, do not have web portals.
The Cisco Self Care Portal allows you to manage various phone features, like Call Forwarding (for any extension on your phone), Speed and Abbreviated Dials, Call History, and updating the phone’s location (description). From off-campus, you’ll need to connect to VPN, before going to the Self Care Portal web page. Note: the first time you connect you may get a security warning. After you allow the site to install Swarthmore’s certificate, you will no longer see the warning. To log into your Cisco Self Care Portal, go to phone.swarthmore.edu/ccmuser.
The Cisco Personal Communications Assistant (PCA) provides access to the Messaging Assistant and Web Inbox. The Messaging Assistant allows you to manage various voicemail settings like your greeting and PIN. The Web Inbox lists all your voicemail messages, including messages deleted in the past 30 days. As a backup, in case you need to retrieve a message, deleted massages are moved into a Deleted messages folder before leaving the system. From off-campus, you’ll need to connect to VPN, before going to the Cisco PCA web page. Note: the first time you connect you may get a security warning. After you allow the site to install Swarthmore’s certificate, you will no longer see the warning. To log into your Cisco PCA, go to vmail.swarthmore.edu/ciscopca.
Did you also know there are handy reference guides that you can print, which explain phone buttons & features, and how to navigate voicemail menus? Both guides are linked below. Note: for best results, print the phone guide on 81/2″ x 14″ (legal-sized) paper.
