New laser cutter

This summer, ITS installed a new laser cutter in the Engineering shop in Papazian. Available to faculty, staff, and students, the Epilog Fusion 40 laser can cut a wide variety of materials including wood, acrylic, and cardboard as well as being able to engrave anodized aluminum, glass, and plastics.  The maximum cutting size of 40″ x 28″ allows working with large pieces of material.

The laser cutter joins a 3D printer and large-format poster printer to enhance ITS’s fabrication capabilities.

To learn more about the capabilities of the laser cutter please get in touch with Academic Technologists Doug Willen (dwillen1), or Andrew Ruether (aruethe2).
