NVDA – Simplified

NVDA from NV Access is a free text to speech tool Microsoft Windows machines. It stands for Non-Visual Desktop Access. It will not work on iOS machines. Many use this tool to listen to content. Mozilla Firefox to get page translation feature

If you’re a Google Chrome user, you may have noticed this option if there happens to be foreign text on the page you are visiting. One of the nice and distinguishing features about Chrome is its ability to translate a web page for its user, with fairly good accuracy. This feature is soon coming to Mozilla Firefox, and is looking to be a pretty big deal. Liberal arts colleges are under increased scrutiny of their institutional approach for ensuring accessibility of web and other digital communication methods. While the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) have issued guidance regarding institutional obligations for ensuring access for students with disabilities, colleges still struggle with how to best address such obligations within the context of policy, procedure, and implementation.
