ITS is offering several Moodle workshops and one-on-one sessions to help get your courses ready for the Fall 2014 semester.
Introduction to Moodle Workshop
This hands-on workshop will cover how to set up a course in Moodle, upload a syllabus and readings, handle student enrollments, send class emails, and provide an overview of other features available in Moodle.
Tuesday 8/26/14 from 1:30PM – 2:30PM in Trotter 201
Monday 9/1/14 from 1:30PM – 2:30PM in ITS Media Center (Beardsley 114)
What’s New in Moodle for Fall 2014
Some of the major new features in Moodle include: annotating PDF assignment files from within Moodle, inline folders (great for courses with lots of files), simplified editing interface, improved mobile device support, badging, and drag and drop images. This is a good opportunity to find out how to take full advantage of Moodle for your courses or department.
Thursday 8/28/14 from 10AM – 11AM in ITS Media Center (Beardsley 114)
Online Assignments in Moodle
More and more faculty are using Moodle to collect assignments electronically. Moodle can make it easier to keep track of who has (and hasn’t) submitted an assignment, prevent your inbox from being filled with student emails, and keep track of grades and feedback. The newest version of Moodle allows you to create, collect, grade, and return assignments from one place. This workshop will cover all aspects of doing online assignments in Moodle with plenty of time for questions and hands on activities.
Wednesday 8/27/14 from 1:30PM – 2:30PM in McCabe 306
One-on-one Sessions
ITS is also offering half-hour one-on-one sessions with one of our Academic Technologists. This is great opportunity to learn about Moodle, bring your course materials and get your course set up for the semester, or figure out how to save time and effort using Moodle.
