Artist Talk with Anita Castillo-Halvorssen

Join the Language and Media Centers for a conversation with Anita Castillo-Halvorssen.

Since graduating from Swarthmore in 2015,  Anita has been collaboratively building stories in film, on stage, and in classrooms. Development of her original solo play All She Has reveals some artistic tendencies she first spotted in her work during her time as an FMST and Theater student at Swat – specifically collage, nonlinear narrative, and memory manipulation. In her recent web series Call From, she explores canonical theater via a queering filmic lens and an irreverent dose of humor. Her work as a teaching artist and member of the Bread Loaf Acting Ensemble has led her to use performance to enrich classroom environments and break open students’ understanding of material. In this Artist Talk, she will highlight these three recent projects, as well as provide insight into what it’s like these days being an actor during the pandemic.
