Domain of One’s Own As Your Personal Digital Space

A sleek laptop sits on a wooden desk, displaying a website for free high-quality images. The screen shows a vibrant image of sunflowers and a gallery of various photos below. Next to the laptop is a digital drawing tablet with a stylus resting on top. The background is slightly blurred, indicating an indoor setting with shelves and decor items. The overall atmosphere is professional and creative, ideal for digital art or content creation.

Domain of One’s Own is an initiative that allows students, faculty, and staff to create and manage your own digital presence. Build websites, blogs, and portfolios with the freedom to express yourself and share your research with the world.

Currently, students are only able to use DoOO when it’s for a class, program, or project if they have a faculty/staff sponsor. For the classroom, professors can assign class website projects, creating an archive of academic work.

Faculty are also encouraged to create a domain for their own professional website as well. Domains can also be used to create space for faculty and staff to:

  • Collaborate with students on a digital course and/or research projects
  • Develop data visualization projects or blogs
  • Showcase your own research and teaching activities
  • Curate your professional online presence
  • Have your students develop e-portfolios
  • Design a landing page for your academic conference or event
  • Much, much more!
