ITS has just added a Moodle tab to the Dash. Because Moodle uses your network username and password, logging in to the Dash will automatically log you in to Moodle without having to retype your password. Soon additional services such as SwatFiles and SwatMail will be added to the tabs, allowing easy access to frequently used web sites without typing the same credentials over and over.
Moodle is our new learning management system that will replace Blackboard over the course of the next two years. For Fall 2010, we have 15 courses hosted in Moodle with about 100 users logging in each day. We plan to have more courses set up for the Spring semester. If you are interested in learning more about Moodle please contact Andrew Ruether (email aruethe2 or call x8254). ITS and the Library will also be hosting Moodle outreach and training sessions later in the semester.
If you are not enrolled in any courses this semester, you won’t have any listings under “Overview of My Courses”. You will be able to see the listings of other courses offered this semester. If you click on the “All courses . . .” link at the bottom of the “Courses” listings you can see all the courses in Moodle. The courses with a face on the right hand side of the page are open to guests, so you can click on one of those courses and see what a Moodle course looks like.
