Blackboard Training in January

The Blackboard support team is offering Introductory and Advanced Blackboard workshops for faculty and staff over Winter Break. Click the links below to register for each workshop.

I. Introduction to Blackboard

If you haven’t used Blackboard before and want to learn to manage a basic site, this workshop is for you. We will cover Blackboard’s collection of on-line tools for courses or organization (committee, club, etc.) web sites, including:

• Document sharing (syllabi, electronic reserves, digital drop box)
• Communication (mailing lists, discussion boards, chat, groups)
• Tools (online gradebook, announcements, calendar)
• Links to other on-line resources (web pages, databases)

II. Getting More out of Blackboard

This workshop will help experienced users brush up their skills and learn some new tools and tips to get the most out of Blackboard.

Depending on the interests of the group, topics may include:

• Blogs and Wikis
• Podcasting in Blackboard and iTunes U
• Blackboard Surveys
• RSS, Social Bookmarking and Google Scholar plugins (adding “live” content to your course site)
• Batch File Upload
• The “Assignments” feature (big improvement on the digital drop box)
