Coughlin OT Goal Leads Garnet By Babson

Senior midfielder Tom Coughlin scored his second goal of the game with 1:01 remaining in overtime to lead the Garnet (2-2) to a 10-9 non-conference victory over visiting Babson (2-2) on Saturday night.

Tim Chryssikos '05 led the Garnet with three goals and three assists including two short-handed goals just 26 seconds apart to give the Garnet an 8-4 lead with 1:13 remaining in the third quarter.

Jason Connell scored twice around a Steve Whitney goal as Babson tallied three goals in 1:05 to cut the Garnet lead to 8-7 with 10:08 remaining in the game.

Coughlin scored off a Chryssikos feed just over a minute later to give the Garnet a 9-7 advantage. Jason Wellemeyer then scored two of his game-high four goals just 48 seconds apart to tie the game at 9-9 with 5:09 left.

Jeff Donlea '05 scored twice and Ryan McKenna '07, Jay Charles '07 and Paul Chung '05 each scored for the Garnet. Whitney scored twice and Jonathan Wyeth had one goal for the Beavers.

Frank Mazzucco '08 recorded 12 saves in goal for the Garnet while Dave Frascogna made seven stops for Babson.

The Garnet travel to Richard Stockton on Wednesday for at 3:30 contest.
