Future Production Studio

Creative Media Commons to Open Fall 2025

The existing Media Center will move to Martin Hall when the building opens in Fall of 2025. The Center will be renamed the “Creative Media Commons” to better reflect its purpose, and it will expand from 12 to 18 computer stations built for graphic design, animation, and video editing. New facilities will include two color grading suites, an audio recording suite for voiceover, sound effects, and film scoring, and equipment checkout featuring professional quality cinema cameras, lenses, microphones, and set lights.

In addition to the above, the building will house a versatile production studio (think sound stage, green screen for motion capture and special effects, and music recording for small ensembles). We’re excited to see how students will make use of the new facilities, and particularly pleased about our proximity to Film and Media Studies, Music, Theater, and Computer Science — all of which will offer critically important opportunities for students to understand mass media and social media landscapes as digitally literate, analytical consumers.
