Welcome back to campus! As we all gear up for the new semester, Swarthmore’s Academic Technology team is offering several supportive workshops to help people get started.
Academic Technology supports the use of technology in teaching, learning, and research. Our staff provides expertise on a range of resources and activities including learning spaces, Moodle, academic software, accessibility, software development, and support for research computing. We operate the Language Center, Media Center, and MakerSpace, which provide dynamic and flexible learning spaces that support digital initiatives and encourage technological exploration.

Getting Started With Moodle

This online session is for you if you’re new to Moodle or need a refresher to help you get started. During this session, we’ll cover the following topics:
- Edit course settings
- Copy from a previous course
- Merge 2 sections of a course
- Upload documents, images, and links
Moodle Assignments and Exams
Wed Aug 24, 10:00 – 11:15 AM (EDT) Zoom Meeting
Interested in creating assignments and exams within Moodle? In this session, we’ll cover the following topics:
- Create and grade Moodle Assignments
- Collect and share files using Student Folders
- Use Gradescope to collect and grade homework and exams
- Create Moodle Quizzes
Digital Accessibility Matters: In the Classroom

- anything you can think of!
After a 30-45 minute presentation, we’ll think through how accessibility principles apply to your materials together.

Moodle Gradebook Basics

Learn the basic functionalities of setting up Moodle gradebook. This session will cover the most common gradebook settings.
Teaching and Grading Using iPads
