Swarthmore MakerSpace taking shape in Beardsley

ITS and the Art Department have been planning to create space where we can begin prototyping a Swarthmore MakerSpace.  This semester, we will be working to create a safe and functional space in Beardsley Hall where Studio Art students can use woodworking equipment and where everyone on campus will have access to the ITS laser cutter/engraver, 3D Printers, Arduino Inventor kits, and much more.  The space will be managed by a new WoodShop/MakerSpace manager we’re in the process of hiring.

In the meantime, feel free to get in touch with your Academic Technologist or Mike Jones to learn more about the space.  You can also visit the ITS Events page to see more information about 3D printer and Laser Cutter workshops in October 2017.
