Get a Life!

This is a fan reinterpretation of the “Get a Life” skit that Jenkins mentions. Is this a vid? Someone please define “vid” for me. Anyway, interesting, that our definition of fandom is beginning to include many of those things that William Shatner would arguably have considered part of the “life” that his fans were supposed to “get.”

    Greg, I’m glad you posted these links to the Shatner video, which is definitely a rhetorical cornerstone of the arguments Jenkins makes in early chapters of Textual Poachers. It might be getting a little ahead of the group discussion at this point, since we won’t really be digging into this material for another couple of weeks — but when we do, I hope you’ll bring this up again for us to consider.
