That site I mentioned in class, www.superdickery.com, is hilarious — but, be forewarned, NWS.

Also, for context’s sake, Boing Boing.

Aaaaand the problematic nature of my dashboard page at the moment — is this how everyone else’s looks? Note how I don’t have links to edit the blogroll or pages, etc.

Ariel, thanks for the URLs. Make sure to add NWS (which I assume is a variant on NSFW) to the Lexicon.

Regarding the missing links, I couldn’t tell from your screenshot whether you have the ability to create/edit pages. When you go to “Write,” do you have a “Write Page” option?

I’m OK with folks not being able to modify the Presentation — no offense, but it will simplify matters if a certain class of “managerial decisions” remains with me. (If people really want the layout to be changed, or more important, the sidebar widgets to be modified, communicate that to me.)

As for not being able to edit the blogroll, that is a bit of a problem. I’ll talk to Liz about it. In the meantime, one student has suggested we create a “Links” page that will serve as a permanent storehouse of interesting URLs. I think it’s a good idea — it will help keep the blogroll from swelling to brobdignagian proportions. What do others think?

Nope, no “write page” option, sadly.

And don’t worry, I have no objection to not being able to toggle with the color scheme, my pretensions to aesthetic sense can be satisfied elsewhere. ^_~

OK, I’ve heard back from Liz. All the students in FMST 85 should now be able to create and edit pages as well as the blogroll. Liz points out that “An Editor can edit other people’s posts and can manage categories, links, comments, and pages.” So I am counting on everyone to play nice … for as Spider-Man reminds us, with great power comes great responsibility.
