Spring Shuffle
SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Four Swarthmore spring contests scheduled to be played on March 28-29 have been altered, encompassing baseball, softball and tennis.
The Garnet baseball team was slated to play in Westminster, Md. at 12:30 p.m. Saturday but heavy rain created poor playing conditions and the two teams moved the first pitch to Sunday, March 29 at 12:30 p.m. More rain on Saturday night forced the doubleheader to get postponed again, this time the re-scheduled date is Sunday, April 5 at 12:30 p.m.
Swarthmore softball was scheduled to being Centennial play on Saturday a 1:00 p.m. with a home doubleheader against Dickinson. The start time has now been moved to 2:00 p.m.
The Swarthmore and McDaniel tennis squads were also slated to play on Saturday, with the Green Terror coming to the Garnet tennis facilities. The women’s events have been postponed and a new time and date are to be announced while the men's event will go on as scheduled.
Swarthmore lacrosse will still host a Centennial Conference doubleheader at Clothier Stadium. The Garnet women host McDaniel at 12:00 p.m. and the men will follow at 2:30 p.m., facing off against Muhlenberg.
