Raul Doubles Up on Coast, Shoremen Soap Garnet

CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- Swarthmore senior Raul Ordonez posted a double-double and fellow captain Matt Allen '10 hit for 17 points in a 90-71 loss at Washington College in Centennial Conference men's basketball action Wednesday night.

Shoremen guard Tim Kohlrus netted a game-high 19 points, while Alan Kines and Sal Schittino dropped in 17 apiece as Washington improved to (6-9 overall, 3-5 CC).

Ordonez (Miami, Fla. / Belen Jesuit) hit for 17 points and a collected a game-high 11 rebounds for Swarthmore (1-13, 0-8 CC).  Allen (Seatlle Wash. / Lakeside) found his mark on three straight three-pointers on the way to double figures. Sophomore wing Ryan Carmichael (Portland, Maine / Portland) tallied 13 points while classmate Sam Lacy (Jericho, Vt. / Mount Mansfield) hit all seven shot attempts (five-for-five from the floor and two-of-two at the line) for 12 points.

The Garnet to turn to comfy Tarble Pavilion  for its next game; Swarthmore played seven of its last eight contests away from campus.  A familar foe is in town, the Ursinus Bears, for the backend of a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader with the womens' teams.
