Young and the Restless

SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- Swarthmore junior Joslyn Young led the field hockey to a 6-1 victory over Arcadia, scoring a career-high four goals on a rainy Thursday night at Clothier Field.

Young scored four goals en route to the Garnet 6-1 victoryIn the first half, Young (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Community), pictured left, scored the first three goals of the game. The first and third goals were off rebounds, while the second one was drilled into the middle of the net after the ball was knocked around.

The score remained at 3-0 in favor of the Garnet going into the second half. Young notched her fifth goal of the season at 46:13, putting Swarthmore up, 4-0.

Junior Abbe Muller (West Hartford, Conn. / Conrad) received a short pass from Ashley Gunter ’09 (Crisfield, Md. / Worcester Prep), scoring her fourth goal of the season.  Senior Natalie Stone (Philadelphia, Pa. / Friends Select) scored the final goal of the game in the 61st minute, sending Swarthmore (3-5) to their second consecutive win.

This weekend, the Garnet take on the second ranked opponent they have faced this season, traveling south to Baltimore on Saturday for a 4:00 p.m. match-up with #4 Johns Hopkins.
