Phong Makes History

NEW TRIPOLI, Pa. -- Swarthmore junior Samantha Phong had a historic weekend at the 2008 Centennial Conference Women's Golf Championship held at the Olde Homestead Golf Course.

Phong (Long Beach, Calif./ Polytechnic), the first Swarthmore woman to compete in the Centennial Championships, carded a 202 (107-95) to finish in 16th place.

Gettysburg won the team champion with a 721 team score and also picked up medalist honors as Merrill Foster recorded a 166 (86-80).
