Swarthmore Concedes Victory to #26 Lions

EWING, N.J. -- Swarthmore women’s tennis (11-5) fell to #26 The College of New Jersey (12-6) in a 6-3 decision at the TCNJ outdoor tennis court complex on Tuesday afternoon.

Garnet senior Rachel Wallwork (Washington, D.C. / Georgetown Day) and junior Jennie Park (Rockford, Ill. / Guilford) were the sole winners for Swarthmore of the afternoon. The doubles pair defeated the Lions No. 1 slot with a score of 8-3.

Wallwork pushed her winning streak to six matches in a row at the number one singles spot with a pair of 6-0 scores. Picking up her seventh win at No. 2 singles, Park won with scores of 6-1 and 6-3.

The Garnet now gear up for the Centennial Conference semifinals to be held on Friday, April 25th. Swarthmore will travel to host Johns Hopkins to play the number-three Muhlenberg in the first semifinal at 11:00 a.m.
